VAOBA is proud to announce a new event to take place at our show. Instead of having a dinner on Saturday night as in previous years, we are planning a Herdsire Breeding Auction. We are actively pursuing Blue Ribbon and Champion level herdsire breeding donations for you to bid on and we already have some outstanding multi-champion males to choose from. Each breeding will be listed on this site, along with a description of the animal and his attributes, a picture, and the terms of the breeding. The terms will be set by the donating farm so please read them so you know what is promised.

The auction will take place up on the vendor level of the Coliseum, located on the opposite side from the vendors. Food and a cash bar will be available during the event. An alpaca fashion show will also take place showing you some lovely alpaca products. Proceeds from the auction (after covering food costs) are slated for donations to alpaca research and for educational opportunities for VAOBA members.

This will be a GREAT OPPORTUNITY to get a breeding to some of the finest males available to improve your herd. We anticipate a relaxing and fun event, so bring your checkbook, bid often, and get a great breeding for your girls.

DOB: 12 Sep 2008
Color: Dark Brown
Sire: Sheer Galaxy ARI: 30379527
Dam: Reserve’s Chessie ARI: 846628

Breeding Fee: $2,000

Andy’s sire, Sheer Galaxy (6 championships and 3 Get of Sire –so far) really poured a fleece onto this guy! It is dense and heavy and so loaded with sebum (from his advanced sebaceous gland structure) that his fleece has been called “rich” by those who have touched him. A number of Suri breeders have said the shine to his fleece goes beyond typical Huacaya brightness and exhibits the luster of the better Suri blankets. One Suri breeder even called him “Suri gone wild” when they saw his lustrous fleece structured, not with dreadlocks, but with a deeply corrugated crimp style.
Andy’s color is a deep dark brown. His ears and muzzle are black indicating he is carrying a black color recessive. We just cannot imagine a more ideal male to breed to our top end grays, browns and blacks. His frame is ideal, nice and square with large bone. Breeding donated by co-owners: A. L. Paca’s Farm, Clearview Alpaca Farm and Bay Shore Alpacas.
