Mark your calendars now! We have a new weekend! The Expo will now and forevermore be held on the 1st weekend following Columbus Day. This year our dates are: October 18 – 19th. This change has been made to avoid our members and exhibitors having to make the choice between our show and the very established Empire Alpaca Extravaganza. There is a bonus to our choosing this weekend … We have found our new venue!

The Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Virginia! The Virginia Horse Center has been the location for many years for the spring alpaca show. When the first VAOBA Expo was in the early planning stages that was the first venue we looked at. It didn’t appear that we would ever be able to obtain a fall weekend there but that has changed this year. We will be in the very same location the spring show is and have plenty of room for everything! The four show rings in the Coliseum, our vendors on the upper level and our VAOBA Products store with a lot more room! We will be able to have our fleece show in the Mezzanine and our Saturday night dinner right on site. All of this with our alpacas housed in probably the most bio-secure stalling in Virginia. We couldn’t ask for better!

Very soon we will be posting open positions on the VAOBA Expo website. Please consider joining the team and assist us in the planning of our 3rd annual show! There is always room for new ideas and more importantly, new energy. There are some great plans in the works already and now is the time to share your ideas with us!
